There comes a point in life when we find ourselves at a crossroads and the opportunity to reinvent oneself is at hand. This is where I find myself in 2023. Back in 2007-2010 when the longest sea voyage in history was taking place, the website 1000days.net was where real-time documentation of the voyage took place. Then the site got old and outdated and I created Beyond 1000 Days to keep posting about new adventures and the latest news. It was meant to be a shared site between me and my partner Reid Stowe. But then the years passed and life happened and we separated in 2022.
I had to figure out what to do with the website. It seemed like a waste to shut it down completely, so I decided to give it a makeover and keep using it to post about my life. There is still a tab devoted to the 1000 Days voyage for anyone who might be curious about it. It was an amazing feat and deserves to be remembered for the record-breaking voyage that it was and still is today. Cause let’s face it, who in their right mind would want to go to sea for three years non-stop? (okay, not including the people who actually did it)
So this is my first post on what looks like a brand new blog and what is for me a new direction in life. I’ll be talking about sustainable living, gardening, kin’s domains, thoughts about the future, and more. I hope you accompany me on this journey, not at sea, or on a boat, but here on land, amongst the trees on our beautiful planet Earth.
